The head of the Russian government M. Mishustin asks compatriots to spend a vacation at home
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin asks Russians not to rush with tourist trips abroad, as the epidemiological situation in the world is different.
“The epidemiological situation in foreign countries is different, and no one can guarantee the protection of tourists from infection with the virus. I ask our citizens not to hurry, Mishustin said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council for the fight against infection.
Mishustin admitted that progress has been made in the fight against the spread of COVID-19: “But we remember that the coronavirus infection was imported from abroad, so we consider it advisable to refrain from tourist trips abroad: a few days of rest can pay too much price.”
For many countries, revenues from tourism itself and from related sectors of the economy are high, a number of foreign countries have already announced the easing of restrictive measures and the opening of the holiday season in the summer of 2020.
The head of the Cabinet believes that the World Health Organization still considers the risk of further development of the pandemic high and does not give recommendations on lifting restrictions on international travel.
