Goa to host first tourist charter since 2020 in December
Nilesh Shah, president of the Goa Travel and Tourism Association, said the first charter flight since December 2020 will be operated to the Indian state of Goa on December 13.
The first charter program is planned from two British cities - London and Manchester, it includes four flights a week. Before the pandemic, the state hosted 100 flights a week during the winter season, which runs from October to April. If we manage to get at least half of that number of flights, the region’s tourism industry could recover.”
Since October 15, the country began issuing tourist visas to foreigners who arrive on charter flights. By March 31, 500,000 visas will be issued free of charge.
