Hong Kong IT company develops mobile app for heartbroken travelers
Instead of asking customers about travel dates and hotel room preferences, the Breakup Tours app asks: “Imagine the moon now, what shape comes to mind?”, “What would you like to say to your ex?”, “If you had an ex call now, would you pick up?”
S. Chung, one of the developers, notes that his team was inspired to create the application by the belief that travel is the best way to overcome the gap.
The app is available in English and Chinese, includes more than 100 products in 10 cities in Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong. For example, a tour “The end of ill-fated love” in the city of Tainan or a visit to the Kintsugi seminar in Tokyo. In Chiang Mai, tourists will be offered to attend a master class in shooting guns.
The service will allow you to search for activities around the city that correspond to the current mood, and receive support from those who are also trying to cope with loneliness - use the "Circle of Travelers" function. The latter allows you to find other tourists who go to the same events, read their breakup stories.
The developers insist that the application is not created to find dating, but is aimed at helping people cope with a difficult psychological state. Users were promised to expand the geography, as it is now designed for tourists from Hong Kong.
