The state Duma adopted a law on simplification of obtaining Russian citizenship
The new resolution will give the President the opportunity to establish the categories of foreigners who will receive Russian citizenship under the simplified option.
This decree will simplify the process of obtaining citizenship for compatriots who live in countries with a difficult socio-political and economic situation, where armed conflicts or political regimes are changing.
Under the simplified scheme, participants of the state program to assist voluntary resettlement in Russia will be able to obtain citizenship. This applies to citizens who live abroad, have a temporary residence permit in Russia or a residence permit.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma V. Volodin, the amendments will help compatriots in Ukraine.
