The Greek Museum for the Blind is a success with sighted people
There are five museums for the blind, one of which is in Greece. The All-Greek Society of the Blind founded the Greek Tactile Museum in 1984 to bring the visually impaired and the blind to the beautiful world of art. However, the tactile perception of art was liked not only by the blind, but also by sighted people, especially children who put on a mask at the entrance and in the hall can touch Hermes, Poseidon and many other antique statues. This is nothing compared to a normal visual tour! In this museum you can touch copies from the museums of the Acropolis, Olympia, Delphi, Heraklion, the National Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art. Each tour is accompanied by audio comments, which can be heard in English and Greek. The doors of the museum are open from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 17.00. Entrance for people with disabilities is 2 euros, and for their accompanying persons free of charge.
