Mayan king's tomb
Archaeologists in Guatemala found the tomb of the Mayan king with well-preserved beautiful carvings, ceramics and baby bones inside. The burial, found under the pyramid of El Diablo of the city of El Sots, is estimated to be fifteen hundred years old. The length of the tomb reaches three meters, and a width of 1.2 meters, a depth of 1.52 meters. Fabrics and ceramics are well preserved in the tomb. This discovery helped to understand the rituals of the Maya burial. It was often assumed that teenagers were sacrificed during the funeral, but the bones of a child less than a year old were found in the tomb. The Maya built many pyramids and other buildings that have survived to this day. They are located in the territory stretching from central Mexico to Honduras.
