The Other Side of the Metropolis

The largest cities attract many tourists with stories about sights and colorful pictures in guidebooks. But in all countries there are dark, unknown to travelers corners. For example, few people know that in the New York subway lives a whole horde of rats. The tunnels under Manhattan are almost completely occupied by rodents. And the most terrible thing is that the rats run on the walls themselves, under tiles, literally centimeters from the passengers. And it's just New York. And in Detroit, there are also its “sights”. Back in the 70s of the twentieth century, an unusual tradition appeared there: on July 4, old houses, garages and garbage cans were set on fire. This night was called the “Devil’s Night.” Although the authorities tried to resolve the situation, the tradition still lives in Detroit. And the Mexican city of Guadalajara, famous for its sights, has also recently become famous for violence and drug trafficking.
