How can Russians who have stayed abroad receive money?

The government has set the conditions for providing financial assistance to Russians who are “stuck” abroad due to the introduction of restrictive measures due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Money (no more than 2.4 thousand per day) per person will be able to get only those Russians who have return tickets.

500 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that as of April 1, 2020, about 25,000 Russians are abroad waiting for return flights to Russia.

The official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, “the money allocated by the government of Russia to assist Russian citizens who are on the territory of foreign countries and are unable to return to Russia, came to the account of the foreign Ministry.” Payments should be made soon.

Assistance will be provided only to citizens of the Russian Federation who have tickets to return to Russia from March 16, 2020 to May 31, 2020. Assistance is provided for the period of stay on the territory of a foreign state from the date indicated in the travel documents for return to the Russian Federation until return to the territory of the Russian Federation.

Russians who are abroad without return tickets will be able to count on assistance only on general grounds.
