What does the portrait of the ideal tourist look like?
British newspaper The Mirror presented a portrait of the “ideal tourist”. The main expectations are a few conversational phrases and compliance with generally accepted rules of decency.
The most important thing is that the traveler is expected to use key phrases in the national language of the state where he arrived.
Then follow the general and understandable rules of decency, of which the first is reasonable self-control in the use of alcohol – problems with drunken “inadequate” and cleaning up the consequences do not please anyone.
In addition, there is no need to start conversations with the locals on “sharp topics” – about politics or religion. It is not bad if travelers know local customs, observe the dress code and do not try to walk “where you have to”, do not litter.
Generosity will also be an additional plus in the characteristics of the tourist. As a rule, the locals do not like when the tourist is persistently bargaining, but will not refuse a good tip.
