Which tourists spend more than others?
Travelers from China pushed the United States from the first place in terms of spending tourists abroad.
Their result was able to exceed the spending of Americans almost twice – $277 billion against $144 billion. This information was provided by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in its report.
Since 2001, tourist arrivals from China have increased by 1326%, from 10.5 million outbound trips to 149.7 million, and there are likely to be even more. With only 9% of Chinese passport holders, the potential for further growth in a country with a population of 1.42 billion is staggering. By 2030, the number of Chinese tourists could exceed 400 million.
This means that of the 600 million UNWTO projected growth in international tourism, which will see the total number of tourists grow from 1.2 billion in 2017 to 1.8 billion by 2030, almost half will be Chinese tourists.
Total expenses of tourists in 2018:
China $277.3 billion.
USA $144.2 billion.
Germany $94.2 billion.
Britain $75.8 billion.
France $47.9 billion.
Australia $36.8 billion.
Canada 433.3 billion
South Korea $32.
