Every Russian should rest at least three times annually

Every year, every Russian must rest at least three times - this initiative is voiced by the Public Council under Rostourism, putting forward a proposal to make tourist trips available to Russians.

Experts of the Council believe that in order to increase the competitiveness of domestic tourism, qualified personnel and the loyalty of the industry economy to the financial opportunities of travelers are needed.

At the meeting of the Council in the Civic Chamber of Russia, as part of the discussion of the strategy for the development of tourism in Russia until 2020, the growth of travel opportunities in Russia for its residents was discussed.

D. Bogdanov, a member of the Public Council under Rostourism, said that the solvency of some segments of society is increasing, but the average tourist has little money, and the cost of air tickets is growing. Another challenge is the lack of trained personnel. There are questions about the quality of the tourist product.

According to VTSIOM, 49% of citizens did not get anywhere and say that it is impossible to travel for themselves. We must ensure that every citizen, even in small towns, has this opportunity. For example, a trip to a sanatorium, then a sightseeing tour, the third trip can be educational or business.”

How exactly to carry out the plan is not yet very clear, but the speaker suggested taking the proposal as a basis, issuing a roadmap and putting this goal in the next tourism development strategy.

“It is unrealistic to achieve this in a year, but in 10-15 years it is absolutely real,” says a member of the Public Council under Rosturizm.

“We are talking about the popularization of domestic Russian tourism, the task is to convey the opportunities that the tourism industry gives to each individual citizen,” says A. Maksimov, Advisor to the Director of the Kudrin Foundation for the Development of Civil Initiatives, Chairman of the Expert Council of the Union of Russian Cities.

He said that tourism begins with non-profit activities: active citizens conduct their excursions, listeners join them, certain places become famous and attractive, then travel companies insert these points into the route.

We need to promote interesting places and make tourist products out of tourist resources, wrap in a beautiful wrapper, and show the citizens of our country.

Members of the Public Council supported the initiative of Dmitry Bogdanov. The proposal will be sent to Rostourism and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
