Chinese authorities will monitor the behavior of their citizens abroad

The South China Morning Post reports that Bai Jian, China’s ambassador to Malaysia, said China was intolerant of the bad behavior of its citizens abroad.

This is how the diplomat reacted to a case that occurred back in 2018, when two Chinese women indecently danced on the wall in front of one of the mosques in the governorate of Sabah (Malaysia). The girls were fined and transported to Kota Kinabalu airport.

The Ambassador supported the actions of the Malay authorities and promised to teach the Chinese to behave decently.

Bai Jian reported several other cases of complaints to the embassy about the behavior of Chinese tourists.

When asked why the incidents outraged him, the ambassador said that the history of Chinese civilization is 5,000 years old, and people in China know the rules of behavior and try not to offend others.
