China ready to extend visa-free regime for Russians for a year
China has proposed to extend the visa-free regime for Russians until September 2027.
Russian citizens can stay in China for up to 30 days without a visa – for tourist, business purposes and visiting relatives; the current agreement expires on September 14, 2026.
Moscow and Beijing are working on an intergovernmental protocol. Russia, for its part, introduced mirror 30-day visa-free travel for the Chinese from December 1, 2025; during the test regime, serious problems were not recorded, the Russian Foreign Ministry told Izvestia.
