When will Havana open for travelers?
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia reports that the program of excursions and visits to Havana and other cities will be restored in Cuba from November 15.
In November, more than 90 percent of Cubans, including children over the age of two, will be vaccinated, so authorities will begin the process of gradually opening the borders between the provinces from the middle of the month.
From November 15, our compatriots with certificates of complete vaccination against COVID-19 will be able to enter Cuba without presenting a certificate with a negative PCR test conducted in Russia.
Cuba recognizes all Russian vaccines.
For unvaccinated tourists, the old rules remain: they must present a certificate with a negative PCR test result when boarding, which took place no earlier than 72 hours before departure.
Since September 15, PCR testing of tourists on arrival at Cuban airports is no longer carried out. All foreigners arriving at Cayo Coco and Varadero now undergo a COVID-19 antigen test or express PCR test at their hotel.
