The largest traveling exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci works will be held in Moscow. It took 10 years for the Anthropos Association of Italy and Grande Exhibitions to create it. The exhibition “Genius da Vinci” will be held from March 1 to the end of June at the art center “Vetoshny”.
The exhibition will feature sketches, drawings and reproductions of the most famous paintings, as well as about 65 mechanisms invented by da Vinci and restored from his diaries. Some objects are reproduced from authentic materials that were available during the master’s lifetime.
Visitors will be able to see prototypes of a bicycle, bearing, parachute and many other inventions. In a special section "Secrets of the Mona Lisa" tells about the invention of engineer Pascal Cotte - 240-megapixel multispectral camera, which allows not only to scan the picture, but also to virtually shoot layers of varnish. Thanks to this invention, researchers are able to see how the canvas looked in its original form, writes Lenta.ru.
