Resort collection in the Crimea postponed

Crimean parliamentarians at a meeting of the State Council on April 25 supported amendments to the republican law “On the introduction of the resort fee”. The start date of the experiment on the peninsula will be shifted by one year – until May 1, 2019.

Officials say they are not ready for the experiment. It became known that the register of operators was not even prepared for collecting the resort fee. The Crimean authorities were still going to introduce liability for non-payment of the tax, believing that without this holidaymakers will evade these costs.

Apparently, the parliamentarians decided to adopt the experience of Stavropol, but did not have time. The Duma of the Stavropol Territory approved fines for tourists who do not want to pay the resort fee. In this case, travelers will have to part with the amount from 500 to 2 thousand rubles. And IP, which will not transfer these taxes to the budget, will have to pay from 2 to 5 thousand rubles. Legal entities – from 5 to 10 thousand rubles.

Experts believe that the experiment may have moved a year for other reasons. Perhaps the authorities have heard representatives of the tourism industry, who are worried about the results of the season and without the introduction of a resort fee. Back in November 2017, there was information about the introduction of this tax without delay. And in December, the opposite statements began to sound. According to experts, the discussion continued all this time. Negotiations probably dragged on because these amendments were planned to be introduced at previous sessions of the State Council, but did not have time.
