The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Development recommend to stop tourist trips to several Gulf states
Russian Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Economic Development advised to stop tourist trips to Russia UAE and five other countries of the Persian GulfKuwaitBahrain, Oman. QatarSaudi Arabia due to the security threat posed by the ongoing conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States.
Tour operators are advised to suspend the sale and promotion of tours, as well as certain tourist services to these countries.
Fighting continues in the Middle East and has affected Gulf states.
The airspace is partially open to outbound flights, but flights from Saudi Arabia to Russia have been suspended.
Urgent recommendations (official message of the Russian Foreign Ministry dated March 3, 2026):
- For citizens in the region to comply with increased security measures, avoid dangerous areas, follow the instructions of the authorities and keep in touch with tour operators.
For tour operators and travel agents – to suspend the promotion and sale of tourist products until the situation normalizes.
Informing tourists is a mandatory notification of the current situation, the procedure for changing or terminating contracts (Article 14 of Law No. 132-FZ).
As of today, tour operators and travel agents must stop selling full packages, booking hotels and selling tickets to these countries.
Similar recommendations already apply to Iran and Israel.
