Will the Russian Foreign Ministry soon announce the opening of charters to Egypt?

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov on April 20 said at a meeting with journalists that the start of charters to Egyptian resorts will be announced soon.

"Everything is going according to plan. Soon it will be announced at another level (announced). I think it's almost a foregone conclusion.”

Bogdanov noted that during the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Egypt, a preliminary agreement on this issue was reached.

On April 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is interested in restoring regular flights to Egyptian resorts, and expects that charters to Egypt will be resumed in the near future.

Charter flights to Red Sea resorts have been cancelled since 2015 after a Russian airliner exploded in the skies over the Sinai Peninsula. Over the past five years, information about the imminent resumption of flights has appeared several times, but each time it was unreliable.
