The Ministry of transport prepares standards for the time of baggage delivery at airports

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has prepared legislative changes to fix the definition of delay in the issuance of baggage to air passengers.

This information was reported by Deputy Minister Dmitry Zverev.

Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich previously reported that the Ministry of Transport of Russia plans to establish at the legislative level a definition of the delay in the issuance of baggage to air passengers.

D. Zverev: ... these standards have already been prepared in the air code. Officially, it is being discussed in public and will be submitted in due course.”

It is also planned to add changes to sanctions for delay - they will multiply. This measure should discipline the carrier, and there is an increase in sanctions and insurance payments.

Serious difficulties with baggage delivery at Sheremetyevo airport occurred since the beginning of June, after the transfer of baggage handling functions from Aeroflot to Sheremetyevo-Handling was completed. In early July, airport officials said the situation had stabilized.
