The Ministry of transport will reduce prices for regional air transportation

Flights on regional routes in the near future may become cheaper - it is reported yesterday "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" with reference to the Ministry of transport. The ministry proposes to halve the financial burden associated with airport support for airlines operating on regional lines.

We remind you that now the average cost of a ticket on main lines in Russia is comparable in cost to transportation in other countries and averages about 20 thousand rubles. At the same time, the cost of flight on main lines is 2.2 rubles per kilometer, and on regional lines - 9 rubles per kilometer.

The first step was taken in March 2012, when the cost of rent for airport operators was reduced. According to the new scheme, it is determined by the volume of transportation: the larger it is, the lower the rent.
