Monastic holidays in Germany became public

As strange as it may sound, about 300 monasteries in Germany offer lovers of exoticism to relax within their walls from worldly problems and turn to the search for inner harmony. In some of the monasteries, vacationers can stay indefinitely, but tourists usually gather in groups for several days. Taking care of strangers is an ancient tradition. The clergy say the monastery should always be full of guests, but how can organized tourism and religious hospitality be linked? Despite its specificity, "monastery" tours are a success among tourists. The program of such rest includes conversations with the clergy, as well as assistance in the daily affairs of the monastery. Why do people want to relax in a monastery? The reasons for all are different: someone wants to experience an ascetic lifestyle, others are looking for solitude, and someone thus decides to take a break from the benefits of civilization.
