The bridge to Crimea will be opened in the second half of May

According to the latest information, the workers completed the laying of asphalt concrete on 19 kilometers of the road part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait. Bridge spans of the structure are covered with asphalt concrete mixture in two layers - the first 6 cm, the second 5 cm.

 

Leonid Ryzhenkin, Deputy Director for Infrastructure Projects of Stroygazmontazh, traffic on the Crimean Bridge should open before the beginning of the summer season - in the second half of May, until that moment, road signs must be installed on the bridge. Freight transport will be launched across the Crimean Bridge at the end of 2018.

 

In May, specialists will provide through passage from the existing federal highway A-290 to the bridge without commissioning interchanges of the local road network. On the Crimean side, an auto-approach from the bridge to the interchange with the Tavrida highway will be opened in working mode. Then the movement will go along two lanes of the existing highway Kerch – Simferopol. At the end of 2018, the Tavrida will be expanded and all auto-approaches to the Crimean Bridge will be put into operation.

 

In accordance with the construction schedule, the railway part of the bridge will open at the end of 2019. The head of the Republic of Crimea S. Aksenov is confident that the commissioning of the bridge across the Kerch Strait will allow the region to become a year-round resort.
