“We have to move forward with common sense.” Norway abolishes all covey restrictions
Norway has lifted almost all COVID-19 restrictions since February 12, 2022.
Russians will no longer need vaccination certificates and tests to travel to Norway, and they will not have to wear masks during their stay. Part of the requirements remained for Svalbard.
“We can return to normal daily life,” the prime minister said.
The decision to abolish anticove measures is based on the professional recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health and the Norwegian Health Authority.
“Many will be infected in the coming weeks, and we have to prepare for that. But we can cope with the increasing incidence... We must move forward with common sense, said Norway’s Minister of Health and Welfare, Kierkol.
Earlier, Norwegian authorities lifted the requirement for remote work, restrictions on the number of guests in the house, at indoor events and on the street.
From 12 February 2022 inside Norway
• Requirements and recommendations to observe a distance of one meter are canceled.
• Requirements for the use of masks are abolished.
• Tests are recommended for adults with symptoms.
• The coronavirus isolation requirement is replaced by a “recommendation” for an infected adult to stay home at 4 days.
• Kindergarten children and schoolchildren are "recommended" to stay home when they are sick, but they can go to kindergarten and school if they don't have a fever for 24 hours.
All other entry requirements for mandatory registration and negative pre-arrival test are also canceled. Thus, Russian tourists (both vaccinated and unvaccinated) will no longer have to pass any tests and fill out the registration form for entry to Norway.
The exception is the entrance to Svalbard. Test requirements before departure and after arrival remain.
Norway is the first country in Europe to fully return all pre-pandemic regulations, including entry requirements for tourists – now Norway just needs a visa, a ticket or a ticket, nothing more.
Denmark has also lifted near-restrictions in connection with the coronavirus, but the country still has some restrictions on the entry of tourists.
Now from Moscow to Oslo, regular flights are performed by Aeroflot. From the end of April, regular flights St. Petersburg - Oslo will be opened by Nordwind airline. There will be other players coming in soon.
