I International Forum "Rural Tourism in Russia" opened in Altai
The forum gathered in Belokurikha and Smolensk district more than 300 participants from five countries - Russia, France, Spain, Poland and Latvia and more than 20 regions of the Russian Federation, representatives of federal, regional and municipal institutions and departments.
Rural tourism in Russia has been actively developing over the past few years. But so far, its share does not exceed two percent of the total volume of tourist services. How to develop this direction of tourism, what forms of state support are necessary for beginners in rural areas, how to train personnel for the industry - these and other problems will be discussed during plenary sessions and round tables.
- The importance of this direction of tourism for the development of rural areas is difficult to overestimate, - said the Governor of the Altai Territory Alexander Karlin, tearing off the forum. In addition to additional revenues to municipal budgets, rural tourism allows you to solve the problem of employment of villagers, which in terms of technical re-equipment and the release of labor in the agro-industrial complex is especially important.
