Under what conditions will Russians be able to enter Malta?
Tourists from Russia will need to comply with the same requirements when visiting. MaltaLike other travelers.
This was announced on May 25, Foreign Minister Evarist Bartolo said after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
According to Bartolo, a strong impact on the economy of Malta had a decrease in tourist flow amid the coronavirus pandemic, and the authorities are striving to restore it and attract travelers, including from Russia.
The Minister also pointed to Malta’s efforts to work with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to accelerate the registration of vaccines, including Sputnik V, in the EU. While obtaining a license is a complex and lengthy process, authorities are aware of its impact on the recovery of tourist traffic.
On May 23, Bartolo said the EMA could register Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine by the end of June.
