Crete will create recreation for violent tourists
It was decided to create special recreations for tourists who behave too violently after the tragic incident. About a week ago, a salesman was killed in a brawl by the British.
The idea of creating recreations will be discussed by the mayors of all sister resorts, namely Zakynthos, Crete, Corfu, Rhodes and Kos. Colleagues will meet at a mini-summit to be held in October this year. It is planned that the meeting will be attended by leading experts of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Public Order, as well as employees of the British Embassy.
“Our business has taken such a turn that we are thinking about creating special recreations outside the city limits. There we will send visiting youth who do not want to behave differently and cannot, and locals who think to give them shelter in the future, said Zacharias Doxastakis, mayor of the Cretan resort of Malia, where the murder took place.
It is noteworthy that local residents have long complained about crazy tourists, but the reason for solving the problem of riots in the resorts was only a tragic incident.
Probably, clubs, discos, bars will be transferred to the recreation in connection with the new urban planning legislation, which is now being widely discussed.
“We cannot turn Greece into a bacchanalia where everyone does what he or she wants,” Doxastakis said.
Recreational activities will be monitored around the clock.
