A hotel will open at the North Pole

Luxury Action has announced the construction of the northernmost hotel in the world: heated glass needles will appear at the North Pole.

The ceilings and walls in the hotel capsules will be transparent, so that guests can enjoy the beauty of the Northern Lights. Guests are scheduled to be delivered by helicopter.

Janne Honkanen, founder of Luxury Action, said: “We have been working at the North Pole for many years, it is one of the most exclusive tourist destinations on Earth.”

Honkanen said the needles were tested for strength and resistance to extreme Arctic weather.

They are planned to be put at the extreme northern point in April 2020: at this time, large-scale polar expeditions traditionally start and the weather favors a journey to eternal ice.

The rest of the time, the capsules will be placed on the island of Svalbard.
