In the Urals found the largest emerald, its value of 32 million rubles

At the Mariinsky mine (Sverdlovsk region), an emerald weighing 1.6 kilograms was found, the largest mineral since 1990, when an emerald weighing two kilograms was discovered.

The gemstone was mined in a mine at a depth of 260 meters. The size of the crystal and the shape of the mineral are unique: in color it belongs to the category "green", in grade - to the third category due to natural cracks.

The cost of the precious find is 32 million rubles, it already has buyers.

General Director of JSC "Mariinsky mine" E. Vasilevsky emphasizes that the stone was raised to the surface almost in its original form: flat edges are evidence of the rarity of the mineral.

Workers who found the emerald will be rewarded.

The Mariinsky mine, the largest in Europe and the only one in Russia, is part of the Rostec Corporation. The enterprise was formed on the basis of the Malyshevskoye field, where every year 150 kg of emeralds, 15 kg of alexandrite, more than five tons of beryl are extracted.
