Hurghada Hotel Attack Delays Egypt's Discovery

Russian tourism has been hoping for flights to Egypt since 2015, but developments in the North African country are not conducive to a quick return of travelers from Russia.

On the eve of the young man, armed with a knife, sneaked into the territory of a private beach and attacked tourists of one of the hotels in the resort city of Hurghada. According to Egyptian authorities, the criminal reached the private beach of the hotel by swimming. The attack killed two tourists, injured four guests, including a Russian citizen. The assailant has been arrested and investigations are underway.

In the spring of 2017, the Russian Foreign Ministry once again appealed to Russians in Egypt with a request to exercise caution and avoid crowded places. The cause for concern is a series of terrorist attacks in several Egyptian cities. Despite the fact that flights between Russia and Egypt are not organized, tourists from Russia freely come to Egypt from third countries.
