The company ERV, which specializes in travel insurance, listed the countries most dangerous for travelers in 2017. In Turkey. Thailand, Vietnam and Spain Travellers were the most likely to apply for insurance payments.
The highest number of insurance cases – 28,510 – was recorded in Turkey in 2017. This figure was 44% of the total number of applications. In second place is Thailand, where 8,194 people applied to the insurance company for help. The top 10 most disadvantaged countries for tourists according to ERV include Vietnam, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Bulgaria and Greece. At the end of the list are Cyprus, India and Tunisia.
The insurance company says the 76-year-old woman was hospitalized with pneumonia in Switzerland, but her 50,000-euro insurance helped reimburse her expenses. Expensive insurance events in 2017 occurred in the United States, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore and Thailand. In these countries, the ERV believes that in 2017 the number of tourist applications for insurance cases increased by 161%, compared to last year.
You should not travel abroad without insurance. The price for the policy starts from 400 rubles, depending on the amount of coverage. In case of an insured event, the traveler should call his insurance company at the number written in the policy in order to assess whether the fact of treatment is insurance and find out further instructions.
