The differences between Russian tourists and foreign travelers are listed

Booking commissioned a survey of 53,492 users from 31 countries (1989 people – Russians).

Experts found out why people travel, and what is important in the trip. Respondents rated the proposed options (the opportunity to relax, experience thrills, express their feelings, get new impressions) on a scale of 10 points.

Russian travelers, in addition to recreation, are looking for thrills and appreciate them for the opportunity to distract from everyday affairs (83%).

Almost half of respondents (47%) go on a trip to visit where no friend has ever been, for 42% it is important to live in a simple environment, 35% want to relive pleasant moments from the past.

Users from Argentina are prone to nostalgia - 73% of them said they travel to experience pleasant moments again, and tourists from India (77%) and China (79%) say they want to live in a simple environment.

For respondents from Japan, Germany, and Hong Kong (66%, 72%, and 80% respectively), traveling is a chance to “get away from everyday activities.” Residents of Indonesia (75%), India (75%), the Philippines (80%) admitted that a trip abroad is a reason to demonstrate their social status: it is important for them to be able to “go to a place where none of their friends have ever been.”

Travelers from different countries have different reasons for travel and criteria when choosing a destination. Most tourists around the world plan their route, assessing its safety, and for Russians, the beauty of nature is important.
