Items that can be stolen from hotels

The Daily Mail (UK) conducted a survey of hotel workers and prepared top items that are allowed or prohibited to take with you from hotels.

You can definitely take home various bottles (shampoos, shower gels, creams) and other toiletries. Another popular item is disposable slippers. “This is perfectly normal. We never use slippers twice, so visitors can safely pick them up, the hotel chain manager told The Savoy.

In some hotels, guests can bring home umbrellas. Brown's Hotel concierge David Young said they had no fines for the stolen umbrella. “Moreover, it’s a great marketing move.” But not all hoteliers would approve.

Guests can always pick up branded notebooks and pens from the room, Young said, because it will help promote the hotel.

In the list of prohibited items from hotels were, for example, pillows. In a hotel in London, when a theft is detected, the manager sends a message to the intruder: “We’re glad you liked our pillows so much!” You will find the invoice in the annex to the letter.”

It is forbidden to take home from hotels batteries from the remote, Bible, toilet paper and robes.

In the spring of 2018, the staff of the hotel in Kemer, Turkey, stopped guests from the Russian Federation who tried to take away various items from the hotel. A video was posted on YouTube showing hotel staff taking toilet paper, towels, slippers, shampoo, soap, packaged tea, fruit, plates from Russian suitcases.
