Named the most reliable airlines

Experts have identified international airlines that are less likely to cancel and delay their long-distance flights.

According to a recent study by AirHelp, which pays compensation for cancellations and delays, one in three long-haul flights depart with delays. Experts analyzed data from 75 global airlines over the past two years and named the most punctual.

The least changes to the schedule occur at Hong Kong Airlines. A punctuality rating of 83.6% was only 16.4% of its flights delayed.

The leaders were Kenya Airlines (71.9%) and Singapore Airlines (67%) with scheduled flights.

Japan Airlines (66.75%), All Nippon Airways (66.14%) and the largest carrier in the United States Delta (67%) punctuality.

Airlines that are based in Europe are struggling on long-haul flights - no carrier made the top 10. 11 position of the top was taken by Iberia (Spain) with a timeliness indicator of 64%.

Earlier, AirHelp predicted disruptions in the flight schedule for 2019. Flight difficulties over the next 10 months will affect more than 2 billion passengers. Of these, 11 million people worldwide will be affected by flight delays and cancellations. In 2018, this figure was more than 10 million people.

In Russia, flight disruptions may affect 9.8 million travelers. In 2018, the number of victims will exceed 96 million. In total, more than 75,000 flights are under threat in the country in 2019, i.e. about 200 flights per day. AirHelp experts call the first half of August a busy time for Russian airports.
