New hotel classification system in UAE capital

At the end of 2010 Dubai plans to divide upscale hotels into several categories. Rooms are classified by types: “beach”, “business”, “having cultural and historical value” and “located in the desert”. Five-star hotels (and now in Dubai are built almost only such) will be divided into platinum, gold and silver. The classification system of all other hotels will also be reviewed. Hotel apartments under the new system will now be divided into 3 categories: basic, standard, deluxe. The new classification system will cover more than 500 hotels in Dubai. But it's still in development. Separation of premium hotels is now considered necessary, as the five-star hotels built 15 years ago are very different from those currently under construction. Such a system should make it easier for a tourist to choose a place of rest.
