The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) estimates the number of Russians who will travel to Russia for the New Year holidays at 3 million people, abroad at 600 thousand.
Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of ATOR Association: ...People abroad usually take a week or 10 days with departure from December 25-26 to January 9. About 3 million people will rest inside the country. These are those who leave either for the first three days with the inclusion of the New Year itself, such tours are more expensive, or for the Christmas holidays.

Inside the country, Krasnaya Polyana, Krasnodar Territory is the number one direction. The whole North-West: St. Petersburg, Leningrad region, Karelia – everything is sold there. Moscow and the Moscow region, to a lesser extent the cities of the Golden Ring. There is also high demand, positive dynamics, but not the same as in other regions.
Other popular regions - Kazan, Tyumen - also have a 100% load, but in absolute numbers there are fewer tourists. The resort of Sheregesh in the Kemerovo region is popular, demand for it has sharply increased in recent years.
A four-day vacation tour with included New Year’s dinner in Russia will cost 60-70 thousand rubles per person without a road.
Overseas - about 100 thousand with flights and meals "all inclusive", but Egypt will be cheaper and Thailand more expensive.
