New Year salutes: how it was

The New Year was greeted by bright pyrotechnic shows, festive salutes were organized in all countries.

Some of the largest salutes were organized in Sydney, Shanghai, London and Dubai.

Hong Kong gathered people on the waterfront, fireworks were launched from the roofs of seven skyscrapers. London put on a light show on the Ferris wheel, as soon as Big Ben struck 12 hours it flashed bright lights. Above the Harbord Bridge and Sydney Opera, the sky lit up with thousands of colorful lights woven into bizarre figures.



The largest salute was called in Dubai. He was included in the Guinness Book of Records. A stunning show was staged on the highest skyscraper of the UAE Burj Khalifa. More than 450,000 fireworks were used. The colorful lights created the flag of the country, its dimensions were 225x130 cm. More than two hundred pyrotechnics worked on the show. But the salute in Dubai was not only the largest and most expensive – it was spent $ 6 million, but also the longest.
