Maya Lomidze, Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) considers the sensational picture of preferences of Russians for the winter season 2019.

The economic condition of the population has not improved, but tour operators record a sharp jump in demand (from 17 to 50%) in some destinations, primarily on winter “warm” long-haul routes.

According to Lomidze, in 2018, the preferences of tourists were determined for a long time, and now the picture is clear.

The 10 most popular destinations for the winter season: ThailandUAE, Cuba. dominican. Vietnam. Turkey. sri Lanka. India. Indonesia .Malaysia.

What causes the high demand for “expensive” exotics? Obviously low cost. Early booking promotions and the possibility of charters affected – the price of a “budget” New Year’s tour for a week starts from 50 thousand rubles per person.

In Europe, demand is not falling, but it is not growing. “... there are practically no charters, respectively, all package tours on the regular, which is already quite expensive, and for the New Year additionally rose by 10-15%.” Tours to Europe for 5-6 days in 3 * cost 80-90 thousand.

As for Russia, we can say that during this winter vacation, it was in the top three of the most requested destinations.

The top of Russian resorts is as follows: Krasnodar Territory (Sochi, Kavminvody, Crimea). And then St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Golden Ring, Great Ustyug.
