Countries with the cleanest air
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized Finland The country with the cleanest air in the world.
WHO researchers studied air quality in different countries. In Finland, air pollution was about 6 micrograms of fine particles per cubic meter, the lowest on the planet. In the top countries with the cleanest air were Estonia, Sweden, Canada, Norway and Iceland.
In countries with the most polluted air, the number of fine particles per cubic meter exceeded 60 mg / cubic meter. In the anti-rating were Uganda, Mongolia, Qatar, India and Cameroon.
Pia Antilla of the Finnish Meteorological Institute believes that there are many explanations for the purity of the air in Finland. For example, 75% of electricity is produced from renewable sources – sunlight, wind, etc., and the country has extensive forest land.
The WHO says that air pollution is the lowest in high-income countries. Russia is in the middle of the ranking of countries with the best air quality in the world.
