The island of garbage in Venice will be turned into an entertainment area

A littered island in Venice will be turned into a theme park. This project was undertaken by a leader in the construction of amusement parks. Alberto Zamperla will invest 80 million euros in the development of San Biagio.

Zamperla is the company that built two-thirds of the slides in Disneyland Paris. It will clear the area of the island from the mountains of debris accumulated there for 40 years.

The company plans to build a Ferris wheel on the island, a roller coaster and even a full-scale replica of the famous gallion that participated in the battle between the Turks and the Venetians. The company believes that in four years the island will be able to receive about 11,000 tourists a day.

It seems that the initiative should cause only positive assessments, but in Venice there are opponents of the construction of the park. They do not object to cleaning the island of garbage, but do not support the idea of building attractions, believing that Venice has enough of this kind of entertainment.
