"Empty the room."

This decision was made by the court of appeal of the city of Paris for 32 members of the society “Black Thursday”.
For more than a year they live in the historical center of the capital, the Marais quarter, namely in one of the most beautiful squares of Paris - the Vosges Square.
The court also ordered to pay 25,000 euros a year for living in a mansion with a total area of 1,500 square meters.
In fairness, we note that the owner of the mansion, 88-year-old Beatrice Cotten has not lived at this address for 44 years, but regularly pays for housing.
A lawyer for the Black Thursday Society is not happy with the court's decision, he admits that the motivations of the homeless are fair, but unfortunately the law is not on their side.
Margot Leduc, a spokesman for the squatters, says they will stay in the mansion until the end. “If we leave, this place will again be empty, and pigeons and rats will occupy it, and 33 students and people without permanent work (namely, such a contingent lives in this building) will remain on the street. You’ll be looking for us, the squatter says.
This mansion, built at the behest of King Henry IV, is a historical monument of 17th century architecture.
It was bought by Beatrice Cotten in 1963 and has not been inhabited since 1966.
Within a year, 33 people had settled there.
In addition to apartments, theater classes were equipped in the rooms of the mansion, rehearsals of troupes of free theaters are held in empty halls, there is even a cinema.
Reference
Squatting or squatting is the act of unauthorized settlement of an abandoned or unoccupied place or building by persons (squatters) who are not its legal owners or tenants, as well as who do not have other permits for its use.
An example for squatters is the experience of the residents of the Christiania district in Copenhagen – starting with the self-occupation of abandoned barracks, they obtained from the government not only the right to live in this territory, but also giving Christiania a special status, turning this area into a “state within a state”.
