Will holidays for Russians become more expensive in 2019?

Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation (ATOR), said that prices for tours for Russians in certain areas in the outgoing year increased by a third, and next year may increase by an additional 10-30%.

On the one hand, prices in almost all segments of the tourism market will increase compared to 2018, but on the other hand, discounts at the early booking stage will be higher than a year ago.

Early booking shares are in demand among Russians: in 2018, according to various estimates, from 25% to 50% of vouchers were bought at the beginning of the year at a discount.

According to M. Lomidze, in 2018 Turkey Not very high prices, and the cost of rest will increase.

The Turks returned their tourists, the tourist flow has developed. In addition, tourists from Europe returned to Turkey. They now need to make money off tourists, and they will do so actively.”

M. Lomidze is sure. Turkish dumping is over: the price of rooms has increased by an average of 15-30%. According to ATOR forecasts, tours to Turkey will become more expensive by 25-30%.

Restoration of air traffic between Russia and resorts Egypt The Red Sea is the most anticipated event of 2019 for many Russian travelers.

Russian tour operators believe that first hoteliers of Egypt will be loyal to the Russian market to increase the flow of tourists, and then increase prices.

Tour operators that sell vouchers to European countries in 2018 restrained prices, because the ratio of the euro and the ruble makes travel to the countries of the Old World expensive. According to ATOR forecast, European holidays will become more expensive.

Rosturizm reports that the outbound flow of Russians abroad increased in 2018 by 10%, and the domestic - by a quarter. In 2019, there will be more travelers in Russia than those who choose foreign holidays. The main reason is that vacation at home is cheaper. The increase in the cost of trips to Russia is not excluded, but within the limits of inflation.

Throughout 2018, rivers did not increase the cost of cruises, despite the rise in fuel prices. Now they will have to compensate for the gap of the current year, as well as lay the inflation and risks of 2019. As a result, prices for river cruises should grow by an average of 25%, Lomidze said.

The increase in the cost of bus tours may be associated with an increase in fuel prices.
