Hoteliers on the Black Sea coast are ready to reduce prices
Owners of hotels in Russian resorts are thinking about reducing tariffs. Market participants believe that this summer season rooms will be cheaper by 7-10% compared to 2017.
The tourist flow to Sochi in the summer of 2017 decreased by 25-30%, to the Crimea by 30% compared to earlier indicators. One of the reasons for this result is the pricing policy of domestic hotels. The 2017 season began with a major increase in the cost of accommodation, which, against the backdrop of the return of Turkey with its attractive offers, could lead to a reorientation of some travelers.
According to experts, the final price of the tour package will not be affected by a decrease in housing prices. First, this is not a massive price drop. So, the director of ALEAN I. Umansky believes: “Some objects went to cheaper, others left the cost at the level of 2017, well, and the third rooms rose in price due to a change in the format of the product.”
The second reason - the main part of the tour price is transportation. Tariffs in 2018 will not decrease, but will likely increase. “After the departure of VIM-Avia, we are already faced with inflated expectations of airlines,” the expert said. I. Umansky asks to take into account the fact that often tourists get to the resting place themselves, by train or by their own car, that is, in general, expectations from the season are positive.
In turn, representatives of Biblio-Globus believe that this season you can expect a decrease in prices for air transportation to the Crimea. The Ministry of Resorts of the Republic is currently planning to develop a set of measures to reduce air travel prices in the summer season.
