Is a May vacation profitable? Analysts called the most favorable time for rest
May holidays are not the most profitable time for a vacation, however, proper planning can significantly extend the rest period.
The May holidays will last eight days. The first block of the weekend - from 1 to 4 May - is dedicated to the Day of Spring and Labor, and the second - from 8 to 11 May - is dedicated to Victory Day. Long weekends became possible due to the postponement of the weekend: Saturday January 4 was postponed to Friday May 2, and Sunday February 23 to Thursday May 8. In addition, on April 30, the working day will be reduced by an hour.
Experts note that May is not the best month for a long vacation: out of 31 calendar days, 13 are non-working, and 18 are labor. For comparison, in August and October, five working days more. However, with the help of competent planning, you can significantly increase the rest time. For example, taking only three days of vacation from May 5 to 7, you can extend the weekend to 11 days. An alternative option is to take a vacation from April 28 to 30, which will provide nine days of uninterrupted rest. At the same time, the April option is more profitable, since this month 22 working days against 18 in May.
Analysts emphasize that in order to register a holiday, it is necessary to notify the employer at least two weeks before it begins. If the leave is already included in the approved schedule, the employer has no right to refuse, except in cases where it may disrupt the production process. If there is no vacation in the schedule, the decision remains at the discretion of the management, so it is better to discuss this issue in advance.
