Vacation checks in Russia – is it possible?

Rosturizm proposed to introduce holiday checks at Russian enterprises, which have long been successfully used in European countries. According to experts, this initiative may not find a response among Russian enterprises.

In general, the procedure for issuing and using holiday checks is as follows: the issuing center will issue holiday checks, which will subsequently be sold to enterprises in bulk. Such expenses for the purchase of checks will not be taxed. Businesses themselves will sell holiday checks at a discount of 30 to 70% depending on the benefits. After that, employees will be able to use them when buying tourist services, for example, living in a sanatorium. And to pay with the latter will be the emission center itself, which issued holiday checks.

Experts are already talking about the advantages of this innovation: sanatoriums and hospitals will be filled all year round; people employed in the tourism sector will receive stable earnings; the production of tourist goods and services will increase. All this will generally have a positive impact on the development of the tourism business in Russia. However, it is already obvious that businesses are unlikely to want to spend money on vacation checks. It is possible that this initiative will be supported only by large or state-owned enterprises, as well as branches of foreign firms that already practice the use of such checks.
