Pierre Richard will shoot a film in Vologda
On February 24, 2011, the famous French film actor and director, 76-year-old Pierre Richard, arrived on a visit to the Vologda region. The reason for the trip is not only the interest in our history, but also the desire to make a documentary called “Journey to Santa Claus”.
The idea to show Vologda on TV appeared in the summer of 2010 during the I festival of young European cinema "VOICES". The main role in the Russian film will be played by a popular Frenchman. According to the plot, he gets to Russia, aspires to the homeland of the winter wizard, visits the lace Vologda and the amazing Great Ustyug, where he likes everything and at the same time is very surprised. After all, not only the capital cities, but also small provincial ones cause sincere admiration among tourists from abroad (in particular, France), the main thing is to help them discover them. Before the hero of the film opens another fairy-tale world, where he is interesting and fun.
The day spent in Vologda gave Richard a meeting with citizens on the Kremlin square, he visited the only in Rossi Museum of lace, visited the cozy Museum “World of forgotten things”. The director of the museum treated him to tea from a samovar, and the tea itself in the mezzanine of an ancient mansion of the XIX century at a table under the lampshade seemed to transport him to the century before last.
In the conversation, the actor recalled his own childhood, his relationship with his father, who always provided him financially, but there was no spiritual unity and mutual understanding. Perhaps that is why his favorite film “Toy” is sincere, kind, truthful, highly appreciated by our viewers.
On the morning of February 26, the French director met Santa Claus in his homeland, from where he flew to Moscow. Given the respectable age of the desperate traveler, Pierre Richard was protected from excessive attention, dressed warmer, valenki picked up to feel comfortable in a 15-20-degree frost.
The film crew, in which screenwriter Mark Ruskard, co-producer Igor Lysenko and director Tatiana Rakhmanova, worked from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., as the busy schedule of the visit program did not allow you to relax.
There was no clear scenario, everything changed on the go, adapting to the realities of life. So quite accidentally in the frame were the newlyweds of Vologda, who decided to take a picture with the star of world cinema, since by the will of fate they were at the right time in the right place, namely on one of the central squares of Vologda.
Vologjans hope that the film will succeed. According to preliminary information, its duration will be 52 minutes. The film is planned to be completed by Christmas and shown on Russian and French television channels, it is quite possible that it will be seen in other European countries.
