Dyatlov Pass will be more accessible to tourists

From June 22, tourists will have the opportunity by helicopter to get from Yekaterinburg to the mysterious Dyatlov Pass in the Northern Urals. The new helicopter route opens for travelers who want to save time.

Previously, expeditions to the Dyatlov Pass left the city of Nyagan in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, it is located 990 kilometers from Yekaterinburg. A helicopter taxi will depart from the Aramil airfield (neighborhood of Yekaterinburg), travelers will travel 370 kilometers to Ivdel, the northernmost city of the Sverdlovsk region. After refueling the car and snacking, the group will be delivered to the Dyatlov Pass itself, where an hour and a half photo shoot is planned.

The tour program includes a visit to inaccessible natural monuments of the Perm Territory and the Komi Republic - the Otorten Range and the stone pillars of Manpupuner.

In recent years, the Dyatlov Pass has attracted many travelers who want to see the place of the death of a tourist group in February 1959 in the Northern Urals near the “mountain of the dead”. For decades, researchers have been trying to determine the cause of the tragedy, but it is still not known why all nine members of the expedition died in 1959.
