On August 9, according to the schedule, planes of Russia and EgyptAir airlines flew to the Red Sea resorts of Egypt, blocks of seats on flights of which were taken by tour operators TUI Russia, ANEX Tour, Intourist.

Direct flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh are still possible from Moscow on a reciprocal basis (5 flights in each direction).

From the Russian side, the flight program is performed by Russia, from the Egyptian side by EgyptAir.

Tourists were greeted with treats and flowers.

In Hurghada, the liner a / k "Russia" from Sheremetyevo went at 08:55, to Sharm el-Sheikh at 10:30. The flights are announced on 522-seat Boeing 747 aircraft.

The first flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh depart with a load of 100%. The Egyptian direction shows a good depth of sales - there are reservations until the end of October.

Tour operators hope that in the near future the volume of transportation to the resorts of Egypt will grow.

“The return of direct flights to Egyptian resorts is a welcome development. Tourists love to relax in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh not only thanks to the all-inclusive system operating in resort hotels. Many people love the Red Sea and its incredible beauty. Starting regular flights is the first step. We hope that in the near future full-format flights with the resorts of Egypt will be restored, said Taras Demura, director of TUI Russia.

A decision on which Russian airline will become the second designated carrier to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh from Moscow has not yet been published. On the Egyptian side, this quota has been exhausted: EgyptAir and FlyEgypt are assigned to routes from Moscow.

The second on the route from Moscow may be the airline, which previously received the appropriate permits. This list includes Aeroflot, Pobeda and S7, which can operate 7 regular flights per week.

The Russian side has already proposed to Egypt to increase the quota for regular flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh: the appointment of a third carrier is being discussed.
