Pizza and Cultural Heritage

Therefore, they seriously took care that it will officially enter the history of world heritage and invited the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to include real Neapolitan pizza in the general list of intangible UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The country recently conducted a survey, according to which most of the population of Italy wants to see this dish in the list of cultural values, among which are usually various traditions, rituals, holidays and crafts.

But there are other candidates for a place on the UNESCO list. So, for example, the annual horse race in Cienne, the carnival procession in Viareggio and the cello production in Cremona also participated in the voting.

It was decided to create a list of intangible property in 2003 in order to preserve the most important monuments of cultural heritage.
