The boy who wrote became Santa Claus

The Brussels symbol “Peating Boy” will be transformed by Christmas, wearing a Santa Claus costume. Everyone will be able to see the unusually dressed Manneken-Pis from December 21 to 25. Mannequin Pis, who is often called Little Julien, is a kind of calling card not only of Brussels, but also of Belgium as a whole. It turns out that the “peeing boy” is dressed not only for Christmas, but also for all significant holidays in Belgium. The beginning of this tradition was laid in 1689, when Little Julien received as a gift from Maximilian-Emmanuel, the ruler of Bavaria, his first costume. Since then, the wardrobe of Manneken-Pisa has grown significantly, now it has more than 900 outfits donated by famous statesmen of various countries. The most memorable were the costumes of Napoleon, Elvis Presley, Santa Claus. Some of Julien's clothes are now in the Brussels Museum.
