The tourist flow to the Crimea this year broke the record of the 2019 pre-pandemic year

More than 7 million tourists have visited Crimea since the beginning of 2021, which is almost a quarter more than the pre-pandemic and record-breaking 2019.

The head of the republic Sergey Aksenov noted that “For 8 months of 2021, the tourist flow to Crimea exceeded the record for the entire post-Soviet period of 2019 by 24%, reaching 7.2 million by the end of summer, while for the whole of 2019, 7.4 million tourists rested in Crimea.”

Over the summer of 2021, more than 5.2 million tourists rested in the Crimea, which is 1.5 times more than in the summer of 2020, and 15% more than the same time in 2019.

"The average load of working accommodation facilities in August 2021 exceeded 82%, in some regions the average load level exceeded 90-95%," the head of the Crimea said.

62% of tourists arrived on the Crimean bridge by cars and buses, 30% by planes, 8% by rail.

In 2020, when restrictions were introduced due to the spread of the coronavirus, Crimea received 6.3 million tourists, 15% less than in 2019.
